Description
Fourteen-year-old Tell and twelve-year-old Wren live with their father in a remote snowy mountain village that survives by mining precious black glass and selling it to magic purveyors in the town of Halfway. After their father is blinded while procuring a thin sheet of valuable sorcerer's glass, the laws dictate he has thirty days to recover or be abandoned to die on the snowy slopes. Determined to keep their family together, Tell and Wren make the treacherous journey to sell the glass in exchange for medicine to cure their father and find themselves banding together with a ragtag group of allies to prevent a dangerous coup attempt among sorcerers vying for power in Halfway.
