In 1916, Ruth Law decided to try flying nonstop from Chicago to New York City in her little bi-plane, determined to make it even though she would need more fuel than the plane could carry. Ruth managed to fly all the way to New York state, glide two miles, land in Hornell, New York, to refuel, and make her way to New York City where an exuberant crowd waited to greet her!
