Description
When the gods of Mesoamerica decided to create humans, they tried many times, but all their attempts failed. The gods gave up, with the exception of Quetzalcâoatl, the Feathered Serpent. He decides to retrieve the sacred bones of creation guarded by Mictlantecuhtli, the lord of the underworld. Armed with just his staff, shield, cloak, and shell ornament, he braves the dangers of the underworld to create humankind.
