An 18th-century Englishman named Gulliver, travels to mystical and fantastic lands. Forever changed by his journeys, Gulliver recounts his tales upon his return home, and is challenged to prove his sanity to rescue his wife and young son.

The excitement begins when Big Bird and Barkley the Dog are separated from their tour group while on a trip to Japan. They meet a mysterious Japanese woman who shows them the beauty of Japan and the Japanese people.

Jen, a Gelfling (one of the last survivors of the elfin-like race), is told of a prophecy by his master, a wise and gentle mystic. Jen sets to the task of returning the crystal shard to the all powerful Dark Crystal, making it whole again, and restoring light to the world.

Kermit and Fozzie travel to Hollywood to hit it big as stars. They're joined on the way by Miss Piggy and numerous other familiar faces.

Baby Bear goes to Big Bird when he has trouble remembering his letters. Big Bird's learning "method" makes learning the letters as easy as A B C. Alphabet song sung by Billy Joel.
